Aldborough is a thriving community in rural North Norfolk, about 5 miles south of Cromer and 20 miles north of Norwich. Our Primary School is a successful, lively and creative place which benefits from having excellent staff, happy hardworking children and lots of parental support. We hope that these web pages give you a fleeting glimpse of our school, wherever you are in the world!
The school is set in extensive and beautiful grounds and is the ideal setting for a child's early, and vital, years in education. It has the 'best of both worlds', being a rural primary school with reasonably sized classes and a caring, family atmosphere, but also, with seven teachers and a strong team of classroom assistants, sufficient staff and expertise to cope with the demands of the National Curriculum.
Since September 1996, we have been able to offer our own nursery facilities on the school site. This has been successfully run by the local playgroup, Stepping Stones. In their last OFSTED inspection, they were highly commended for the excellent quality of their provision. The link between the nursery and the school enables children to flourish on transition.
Our aim is to foster a partnership between pupils, parents, governors, staff and the community, which provides a broad curriculum in a secure, caring and stimulating environment. Whilst providing a very good education with Literacy, Numeracy and ICT at the core, the school remains committed to the principle of providing a broad curriculum, which encourages and develops the children's creativity especially im music and drama. Combined with excellent results in national tests at both 7 and 11 years of age, over a number of years, the school can provide excellent foundations for a child's education.
