Social Emotional Mental Health Assistant

GR ref: 2214       Scale F (£17,413 – £19,225 actual salary per annum)
Term time plus 1 week (Fixed Term contract to 31/07/20)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Assistant to work across our trust of 9 schools under the direction of our SEMH Officer, offering advice and guidance to support children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

The post holder will be expected to work alongside schools and families taking a lead role in delivering SEMH support to young people as identified by the schools, along with supporting parents of children with early signs of SEMH or behaviour concerns, working with them to prevent problems escalating and interfering with the child’s ability to engage with school and learning. It is essential you will have previous experience of working with children of relevant ages with additional needs in a range of settings including with SEMH challenges.

The Aylsham Cluster Trust (TACT) is a successful group of schools ranging from nursery to secondary in the Aylsham area and its work is underpinned by the values of the co-operative movement. The trust is in the process of setting up a new exciting charitable trust TACT (Families) which will provide social, emotional and mental health and well-being support and learning opportunities to the young people and families across our trust. This role is a pivotal part of our new trust and strategy going forward.

TACT is committed to being an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive trust community and the schools are blessed with excellent staff, great facilities, and a wonderful group of young people. The support that we enjoy from parents and the wider community is second to none.

If you would like to join us on this next step of our long term strategy in a successful and genuinely warm and friendly environment with a tremendous community ethos then we would love to hear from you.
