Aldborough Primary School currently has 131 children on roll. We have 7 teaching and 11 support staff. The school is set in extensive and beautiful grounds in rural North Norfolk.
A perfect place to go to school for children and adults alike.
The most recent OFSTED Inspection ( May 2007 ), reported that:-
Teaching and leaning are good. Some outstanding teaching was seen, especially in dance, drama and English throughout the school. Teachers have good knowledge of the subjects and of the age group that they teach. They plan their lessons carefully in order to meet the needs of the full range of abilities and ages in each class successsfully. Relationships are excellent and teachers help pupils to become increasingly confident learners.
For a number of years, the school’s Key Stage 2 test results in English, Maths and Science have placed it among the top schools in the county of Norfolk. Whilst some cohorts of children are more academic than others, our Key Stage 2 SATs results often show a very high percentage of children at level 4 or above in all three subjects - English, Maths and Science.
These results, together with above Norfolk and national averages in Key Stage 1 tests, make Aldborough a very successful school.
These good test results are achieved in the context of a school which still provides a broad and stimulating curriculum, where children are valued as individuals, and their achievements, in whatever area, are celebrated.
It is the school's aim to maintain these very high standards, whilst constantly looking to develop and improve the curriculum and the quality of teaching.
It is also our aim to provide equality of opportunity for all pupils who should become increasingly responsible for their own learning and assessment and look to exceed their potential both personally and educationally.
We are educating children to take their place in an ever changing world and it is important to develop pupils with self discipline, confidence and feeling of worth, being motivated to work independently and cooperatively and make responsible decisions which show an awareness and regard for others and the world around them.
In 2005, the school renewed its Investor in People status.
