'The Friends of Aldborough Primary School' exists to promote fund-raising, staff support, and parental friendship and guidance at the school. Fundraising is for the purchase of items which the school budget cannot stretch to and to support visits and visitors. In addition to raising valuable funds, the events and activities organised throughout the year are fun and a great way to get to know other families better. The main events which are tried and tested and looked forward to with eager anticipation each year by all those who know the school well and the local and wider community,include:

Bonfire night with Hog roast
Bingo night
Easter Fair
Summer Fair
The first event of the school year is the Bonfire Night. This is always a most profitable evening, with a fantastic display to rival any in North Norfolk and always drawing a big crowd. At this time too, a working party of parents and friends meet in each other's homes to create wonderful gifts for the Christmas Fayre. This is held in the Church Rooms on the village green and is welcomed by parents and the local community for high quality, unique and unusual gifts. In the New Year, the annual Bingo night, organised from start to finish by two parents is another success, packing the school hall to bursting point. The Easter Fair has a child friendly focus with many children participating by running their own creative stalls. At this fair, a spirit of local community is enhanced as local beauticians, florists etc contribute to a glorious 'Springtime is here' feeling. The final main event of the year is the Summer Fair. This is traditional in all aspects, with school and local community participation. Altogether the Friends raise approximately four thousand pounds each year, provide refreshments at many events and bring together the school and local community.


The 'Friends' meetings are open to anyone with an interest in supporting the school. There is no obligation to come to every meeting. New ideas, fresh energies and enthusiasm are always welcome, so please come along and support your school.
