Aldborough School to Perform at the Norwich Theatre Royal

We’re delighted to be one of six school groups in Norfolk, who are working alongside project artists and volunteers to create a short performance to be showcased at Norwich Theatre Royal on August 1st 2014.

The school was chosen for this learning and performance programme about WW1and it is our Year 5 and 6 pupils who are participating. Our pupils’ contribution reveals the stories of two fascinating people, Hilda and Sid who originated from the county during the period of WW1. In preparation for their performance our pupils have studied historical documents, artefacts and archived material to gain a greater understanding of WW1. Additionally the children have been coached in singing, drama and performance to enhance the skills they have acquired through our normal teaching opportunities. Without doubt his has been a huge commitment from both the children and the classroom staff but we know the final performance will be an incredible finale to their learning journey.
